‘Tackling the Energy Challenge’

Globally, there are more than 9.4 million people working within the renewable energy sector. This includes 2.8 million in solar, 1 million in wind, and 1.6 million in liquid biofuels. This relatively new industry is growing in strength continually, particularly with many new offshore wind farms being developed.

In the UK, the sector has, for the past 10 years, seen growth within wind and solar energy. A recent joint renewable energy investment deal worth £240 million with India (April 2017) will help the UK push forwards more developments. And in April this year, Britain experienced its first coal-free day for over a century. There are many calls for the government to embrace the ever-changing energy market and to extend their support towards a low carbon generation going forwards.

‘Tackling the Energy Challenge’ will be released in 2019. If your organisation would like to contribute or feature in the programme, please contact Alan Mason by email at
